step 3

Stick the needle into the vial: Put the needle into the vial and leave it there; do not pull it out. It’s time to withdraw the medication.

step 4

Flip it and pull the plunger: While the needle is in the vial, turn it upside down. Draw out the prescribed amount of medication.

step 5

Gently pull syringe from vial: Hold the syringe by the barrel and pull it out of the vial. Be careful not to touch the needle or plunger.

how to poke yourself.

If you are going under general anesthesia you must tell your doctor that you are receiving GLP-1 injections.

Before You Begin: Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.

Gather Supplies: Gather one of your filled syringes, an alcohol wipe, a cotton ball, and a sharps disposal container.

Pick a spot: Choose a clean, well-lit, and comfortable injection site, such as your stomach, thigh, upper arm, or even the fatty part of your bootie.

Clean the injection site: Use an alcohol swab to clean the injection site. Let it dry for a few seconds.

step 1

step 2

Inject the medication: Hold the syringe like a pencil, keeping your hand steady. Pinch a fold of skin at the cleaned injection site. Insert the needle into the skin at a 90-degree angle if using the stomach, or at a 45-degree angle if using the thigh or upper arm. Slowly push the plunger all the way down until the syringe is empty.

step 3

Remove the needle: Remove the needle from your skin at the same angle you at which inserted it. Use a cotton ball to gently press on the injection site if there’s any bleeding. Do not rub.

Do NOT chase people with a needle. Or run with the needle. Or IDK, eat it.

step 4

Discard the Syringe: Immediately place the used syringe in a sharps disposal container. Make sure it's out of reach of children and pets. If you don’t have a sharps container, you may use any child-proof plastic container and label it as “Sharps DO NOT RECYCLE” before disposal.

NICE WORK!

syringe math.

With syringes, the dosing is all prepared for you; you DON’T need to do the math. But we want you to have the reference. For doses 10mg and up we double the concentration.

  • 25 units = 2.5mg = 2.5mL

  • 50 units = 5mg = 5mL

  • 75 units = 7.5mg = 7.5mL

  • Dosage concentration goes up:

    • 50 units = 10mg = 2.5ML
